Caring for Your Reformer

With proper care and routine maintenance, your FORMA Reformer will perform beautifully for years. Follow these guidelines to keep your equipment in peak condition.

Daily Cleaning

  • Wipe down the carriage, frame, and footbar with a soft damp cloth after every session.
  • For sweat or skin contact, use a mild diluted soap solution — never spray liquid directly onto the Reformer.
  • Dry all surfaces thoroughly after cleaning to prevent moisture build-up.
  • Clean the rails with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust and debris that could affect the carriage wheels.

Upholstery Care

  • Wipe the carriage pad and shoulder rest pads with a damp cloth using a gentle soap solution.
  • Allow the upholstery to air dry completely before using the Reformer again.
  • Avoid sitting or kneeling on the upholstery with sharp objects such as jewellery or belt buckles.
  • Using a towel or mat over the carriage pad during sessions will help extend the life of the upholstery.

Routine Maintenance

  • Inspect all bolts and screws every 3-6 months and tighten any that have become loose.
  • Check the carriage wheels regularly — they should roll smoothly and quietly along the rails. Replace if worn.
  • Inspect the springs for signs of stretching, fraying, or deformation. Do not use damaged springs.
  • Check the rope and strap connections for fraying or wear at the attachment points and replace as needed.
  • Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the rails every 6 months to keep the carriage gliding smoothly. Avoid oil-based lubricants.

Storage and Environment

  • Store your Reformer indoors, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Avoid placing your Reformer near heat sources such as radiators or air conditioning vents, as extreme temperature changes can affect materials over time.
  • If storing for an extended period, remove the springs and store them flat to prevent unnecessary stretch.
  • Keep the Reformer on a flat, stable surface at all times during use and storage.

Do

  • Use a mat or towel on the carriage pad for hygiene.
  • Inspect hardware every 3-6 months.
  • Wipe down after every use.
  • Contact us if you notice any damage or unusual sounds.

Don't

  • Use harsh chemical or abrasive cleaners.
  • Exceed the maximum user weight limit.
  • Use the Reformer with damaged springs or frayed ropes.
  • Expose to direct sunlight or moisture for extended periods.
